The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce the addition of its ninth franchise member - the Akwesasne Chiefs. Gary Rini will manage the team.
The Chiefs will play out of the historic A`nowara`ko:wa Arena, aka Big Turtle Arena. Seating to accommodate 3,000 people, the Chiefs will share the arena with current tenants Akwesasne Indians and Akwesasne Storm Minor Lacrosse as well as the Akwesasne Minor Hockey Association.
The Chiefs will be part of an East Division, which is forming along with the Ottawa Jr. Sharpshooters.
