DAILY DISH: Brahma’s Wildfong to Omaha? Canadian Junior Hockey News

While the North American Hockey League is busy adding the Lone Star Brahmas’ name to the Robertston Cup, the hottest rumor in Duluth is the cup winning coach’s own name being tied a United States Hockey League position with the Omaha Lancers.

While we have been able to confirm Wildfong’s candidacy, it is unclear if the Lancers have finalized that decision yet.

Maybe they were waiting to see how the Brahmas did at the Robbie. Let’s check that task off the list.

It’s my opinion that Wildfong has been able to lead Lone Star to the championship in spite of issues within the organization. Those issues mostly fall at the feet of ownership. In a nutshell, the Brahmas have never been the IceRays, RoadRunners, Ice Dogs, or even the Rebels when it comes to taking care of the players.

Wildfong was able to coach his team past those shortcomings all the way to the Robertson Cup.

So what would the coach do with such a top-notch organization like the Lancers? I’m thinking such a hire puts Omaha back on top, and that’s exactly where they belong.
