The Vancouver Giants have been out of playoff contention for 3 years. Their quarterfinals loss to the Victoria Royals means that many of their star players are moving on after having very little playoff experience. Despite that these graduating players will have long NHL careers ahead of them.
Ty Ronning was drafted by the New York Rangers in round 7 at 201st overall in 2016. He has joined the main roster of the Rangers American Hockey League affiliate in Hartford where he will play for the Wolf Pack. He has aged out of the WHL and looks to join the Wolf Pack on a full time basis.
Brennan Riddle was a mid season acquisition by the Giants that saw them trade Brad Morrison. He ages out due to the league age limits. Darian Skeoch also ages out due to the player age limits. He was acquired in a trade with Lethbridge in the 2015-2016 season and attended the Anaheim Ducks training camp in 2016.
One person who hasn't aged out but is leaving the team is Edmonton Oilers prospect Tyler Benson. Benson has joined the Oilers American Hockey League affiliate the Bakersfield Condors. He mad his pro debut in Winnipeg playing against the Manitoba Moose. In four games he has two points from two assists.
