It was announced today that Salmon Arm Silverbacks Team President Troy Mick and the teams board of directors have decided to mutually part ways. This comes as a surprise as Troy signed a five year contract extension with the team in May of 2016.
In a press release on the Silverbacks website Troy says "I have truly enjoyed my times in Salmon Arm and I have met so many great people." He goes on to say that "I would like to thank the board of directors, staff, players, parents, volunteers, fans and all of the corporate sponsors for allowing me to be a part of this amazing community. It has been an honour to wear the Silverbacks logo with pride and I wish nothing but success for to the franchise in the future. I will be a Silverbacks alumni forever and I will miss the Shaw Centre."
Troy Mick has been a part of the team since 2012-2013 as when he arrived as head coach before becoming team president. The Silverbacks would like to "Wish him all the best in his future endeavours." No word has been given on who would replace Troy Mick as Team President.
