Heisler Group’s Stars of the Week Canadian Junior Hockey News

Third Stars
Gunner Moore, Atlanta Capitals, North American 3 Hockey League: Moore, a 2001 defenseman, had a pair of assists in Friday’s 5-4 shootout win over the Texas Brahmas. He is sixth in team scoring (32 points), and is tied for the lead in assists among defensemen with 28.

Cameron Knowlton, Willmar Warhawks, NA3HL: Knowlton scored one goal, and was the Third Star, in the Warhawks’ 4-1 win Sunday over the Peoria Mustangs. The 1999 forward now has four goals and 13 assists on the year, good enough to be tied for fourth in team scoring after only 18 games played with Willmar.

Peyton Kelly, Thompson Blazers, British Columbia Major/Minor Midget League: Kelly’s presence on this list continues, thanks to his one-goal, one-assist performance Sunday in the Blazers’ 7-2 win over the South Island Royals. The 1999 forward is sixth in team scoring with 12 goals and 19 assists.

Second Stars
Marquez Ginger, Willmar WarHawks, NA3HL: Ginger scored his team’s only regulation goal in Saturday night’s 2-1 shootout win over the Peoria Mustangs. The 1999 forwarded was awarded the game’s Second Star for his effort.

Nelson Schiller, Willmar Warhawks, NA3HL: The 1999-born netminder stopped 44 of 45 shots to lead Willmar to Sunday’s win. He was named the game’s Second Star. He has a solid .919 save percentage on the season

First Star
Ryan Gil, Battlesford North Stars, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League: Gil buried two goals in two weekend games. The 1998 forward now has 18 goals and 19 assists on the season, ranking him sixth in team scoring.
