DAILY DISH: What's That Floating in the Punch Bowl? Canadian Junior Hockey News

Am I the only one who is tired of negative recruiting and intentionally confusing players

This week I heard multiple stories about a coach, with non-sanctioned team, that is now using their new status to recruit players.

Since when can a team move from a sanctioned league to a non-sanctioned league and start bragging about elevated developmental opportunities? The team all of a sudden is playing at a higher level of play? The facts are simple; it's the same team with the same owner and the coach. In many cases, it's a bad operator and a bad situation that moved the garbage from one trash bin into another.

There are dogs in every league. Every league has its winners and losers along with good operators and bad operators... it's inevitable.

If I take a beat up car that's mechanically dead with 400,000 miles on the power train, give it a shiny new paint job, new set of tires, wheels, and bumpers then try to pass it off as a nearly new car, I'm doing something that's just not right.

Good operators in leagues that is constantly acquiring new teams should be concerned. How can the league except all these teams with questionable operators?

I don't know about you but I'm not going to be excited about drinking out of the punch bowl after witnessing the party host pull a floater from it, are you?
